If you're serious about joining the army, talking to recruiters is the first step towards achieving your dreams and goals. Here are a few steps to help you understand the hiring process.
The recruiter will sit down with you and interview you. This is an opportunity to ask questions and explore all your ASVAB strategies and practice. However, the conversation will be brief and it is meant to win your trust to build a relationship with you.
Are you eligible to register?
The recruiter will need to know your real age, education, nationality, dependency status, criminal and medical history to determine whether you can apply or not. If you don't tell the truth about yourself, you may be disqualified.
Put on a shape.
Your recruiter will provide you with a list of documents required for military processing. The sooner you start collecting documents, the sooner you can join the army.
Get an ASVAB test.
If you want to serve, you must first get an ABRI professional service battery or so-called ASVAB. This is a series of tests that will help you better understand your strengths and determine which job in the army is best for you.
After passing the ASVAB test, your recruiter will make an appointment to visit the Military Immigration Processing Station (MEPS). This is where you start a complete physical exam as well as a complete basic exam.
Sign your contract.
Now the last part of the recruiting process is signing your contract and raising your right hand. You raise your right hand and promise to defend the US Constitution and obey the orders of the President of America.
